Welcome back to term four! This is our busiest term with showcase preparations well underway!
Please note all fees must be finalised by Friday the 26TH October. Please arrange a payment schedule if you are experiencing and difficulties with fee payments. Children with outstanding fees will not be permitted to perform in the showcase.
We are pleased to announce that CSD has once again had a 100% success rate for their 2018 BBO external examinations. Our examination students managed to attain a 98% distinction rate!! Congratulations girls what excellent results you all achieved through all your hard work and dedication, we are all very proud of you.
A list of performance requirements is available at the studio for all new parents – please pay attention to the requirements for tights and wigs. This list is also available on our website as well as a list of dancewear stockists. Pictures of student make-up are also displayed at the studio. Just a reminder that the use of gloss tights is now being phased out for jazz and tap students.
Our finale performances will follow a “dance through the decades” theme. Costumes are to be supplied by the children for this. Students will be given guidelines by teachers as to what they will need to wear in accordance with their song. All finale rehearsals take place at the studio.
Rehearsal dates 20TH October 10-11am, 27th October 10.00 – 11.00am and 10th November 9 – 10.00am,
Cost $2 per rehearsal per child.
Tickets for our Plenty Ranges Showcase will go on sale at the studio Friday 19TH October 5-7pm. Ticket prices – adult $35 Children $25. Please note that the venue holds a maximum of 500 patrons so please purchase your tickets early to avoid disappointment. It is a requirement of PRACV that all patrons require a seat – children over 2 are not permitted to sit on knees of parents. All CSD students who wish to sit in the audience require a ticket. All children must remain backstage for their entire half – the exceptions being children only participating in the finale for the second half. Please ask ticket sellers if you are unsure whether or not your child will require a ticket. Please note junior students will only be supervised during the first half – all children are to be collected at half time if not performing in the second half (excluding the finale)
We will be holding a sausage sizzle on the ticket sale night at the studio – sausages in bread $2.50 cans of drink $1.50. Please let us know if you can assist with the BBQ on the night – we require helpers.
SPECIAL CONCERT GUEST PERFORMERS
This year we will be helping out a fellow dance teacher by allowing the Coulle Dance Academy students to join us for our end of year performance. This will be the very first concert for the small studio and we are only too pleased to help them attain their dreams of performing in a theatre.
CRIAIGIEBURN PRIMARY SCHOOL CARNIVAL
Friday 26th October 4.45pm. CSD has been invited to perform at the Craigieburn Primary School Carnival. As we only have a 15 minute time slot the following classes have been chosen to perform. Combo Ballet – the Nutcracker suite, Miss Debra Hip hop – Space Jam. Intermediate foundation Ballet – Scars, Musical Theatre – Grease, Gr 4 tap - Boogie woogie Bugle Boy. Notices will go out shortly – full costumes, makeup etc are required. Please come and support our kids even if yours are not performing.
Please give your name to our helpers on the night of ticket sales if you wish to help backstage on the night of the performance. All helpers are required to provide a current working with children check to participate. Only official backstage pass holders are permitted to help backstage for security and safety reasons. Parents are only allowed into the backstage area to drop off children, during interval or to collect children at the end of the performance. NO PASS NO ENTRY! Parent helpers will remain in the rooms until the children are signed out of their charge. PLEASE INSTRUCT YOUR CHILDREN TO WAIT UNTIL THEY ARE COLLECTED PERSONALLY BY YOU – THEY MUST NOT BE SIGNED OUT BY FRIENDS. Volunteers must stay backstage for their entire designated half – your child’s performance may be viewed from the side of the stage. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES SUCH AS PHONES, IPADS ETC UNATTENDED IN THE DRESSING ROOMS!!
COMPULSORY CSD PHOTOS
ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND. We are pleased to announce that we have secured a booking with Photography by Angel for our studio on Sat 10th November. Angel will be providing digital packages (see attached photo info) All photo packages will contain at least 5 individual shots of your child plus the group photo. Please note all packages are required to be prepaid in cash. Envelopes must be returned to you teachers at the studio by Friday 2nd November. Photo times will be posted up on the notice board. Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled photo with hair and makeup ready and in costume if possible. You can check out Angels work at www.photographybyangel.com.au
Costello production DVDS will be used to video our official showcase. All DVDS must be pre-ordered and paid in full at the time of order $45 per copy). There will no longer be orders taken without payment – there will be no exceptions. All DVDs have inbuilt copy protection and cannot be copied. The use of personal videos, cameras and phones is prohibited during the performance and may result in eviction from the auditorium.
All donations for the end of year Christmas raffle can be left at the studio this will be drawn on the presentation evening.
Please take the time to check the lost property box located in the foyer. All unnamed items will be donated to charity if not collected by the end of November.
END OF YEAR PRESENTATIONS
AIRBORNE ROXBURGH PARK – 2/195 Somerton Rd. Roxburgh Park
DATE - Saturday 8TH December from 5.00-7.00pm.
COST - $20 per jumping participant this includes socks. (This is an excellent price as Airborne is normally $22 per hour! They have given us the socks and the second hour for free)
Brothers and sisters are welcome as CSD encourages family participation – there is no charge for spectating adults. The airborne canteen will be operating during our function, hot food such as nuggets and chips will be available. Tickets can be purchased at the studio.
